Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day!!
Whom could be a better role model for fathers than St. Joseph? I don't know about you, but I think I would have had a hard time with all that God was asking me to do.
First, marry someone who was pregnant despite the fact that the child was not mine and trust that the angel talking to me was not a figament of my imagination, but telling me the truth that my soon to be wife was going to have the Savior of the World and I was to be his earthly father.
Then, to pick up and run to Eygpt and the list goes on for St. Joseph.
Thank you God for giving St. Joseph to all fathers so that they make mirror his behavior.
In my opinion, St. Joseph is the ultimate man. He demonstrates all that a man needs to be. He trusted God, supported his family, and lived humbly.
Blessed be God Forever!
Prayer to Saint Joseph for Fathers
Saint Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary, you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness. But amid the worries of material life, your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God's Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over Him faithfully as you have done.
Amen.

What a great post for father's day - for Pat as well as for all the men who you honor with your prayer! Thank you for the reminder that our husbands have to labor and worry about providing for us, but that they are not without protection and caring.
